Five years of working and living in the UK and Malaysia had made me realised that making design artful is akin to making live eventful. Therefore, blending art into a tropical setting is what I have in mind for this design. Derived from an affinity with the tropics, inspired by nature and influenced by art, the concept that strengthens the relevance between lifestyle and interior design is indeed thought provoking.

Many have misunderstood the term of “Free Interior Design Consultation”. Would like to clarify here what is the free interior design consultation mean in this blog, as a “Interior Designer”, we give free services of interior design consultation. We will meet client on the first time and brief them what are the services that our company will offer and also at the same time asking what the customer requirement and budget of the renovation. We will show some of designs of portfolio to the customer. You may refer to our portfolio file at Desigva Design’s Portfolio
On the second meeting after getting the floor plan from the customer, we will able to come out with the 2D furniture layout drawing to the customer. We will propose and explaining the space planning and how the renovation will go and do some sketching on the furniture position. After the proposal, we will submit the rough cost estimate of the interior design and renovation project. Customer will look at the quotation and give feedback on that. When customer finally agree with the arrangement, we will started to charges them on the designer’s fee.
And on the next meeting, we will come out the actual 3D drawing presentation. The 3D drawing is something like below picture :-
We will usually take about 2-5 times meeting the client and finalize all the drawing on the interior design. After the confirmation, we will able to start the renovation work. This will usually take about 1-3 month renovation period depend on the square ft of the house.
On the conclusion, free interior interior design consultation, it apply for the 2D drawing of furniture layout plan and not the detail 3D drawing. The reason of not giving this free 3D drawing because people don’t really respect with the copyright of the design. They just like to get the free design & cheap things and end up with the contractor. I am sure that contractor will not give professional services and consultation like the professional interior do. If you like to have designer look in your home and office, alway go for the professional interior designer.

1) Set a budget, just set one even you don’t know how much it will be.
2) Plan your layout (living room,new kitchen, store, bathroom, bedroom, etc). Lightings, water taps, power sockets, autogate, door bell, build in cabinet, feature wall, windows, doors, alarm system, water pump, aircons, fans, hood, hob, ventilator, wardrobe, fridge, electrical appliances, etc
3) Ask for quotations, if over budget then review your layout.
4) After confirming the layout and the price, start with the electrical and plumbing works if any. Make sure you don’t change your layout much again after this step.
5) Build ceiling & plaster ceiling
6) Tiling
7) Install lightings, switches, sockets.
Painting
9 ) Build in furniture (kitchen, wardrobe, feature wall, built in cabinet and carpentary works)
10) Move in furniture and electical appliances (aircon, fan, TV, etc)
Journey of a thousand miles start with a good plan! Plan ahead before you start, a bad/wrong plan is still better than no plan at all.
